Got Mum over from NZ for Christmas and she bought some old pics along.
Found a few of my first road bike and got me thinking if any one else may have some old pics to share.

My first road bike was the 1983 Honda MVX250F 2 stroke triple that I purchased brand new in '83' and was my pride and joy for a couple of years.

Never had an issue and was a very quick bike to ride.

I have even thought of locating an old one to restore but doubt parts and reliability would be any good.

Cheers

You might be interested in this thread then - one of the bikes being restored might even be your old one, or be using parts from it.

I don't actually have any decent pix of my first bike - only an old B&W of it after I wrecked it (no digital cams back then). Here's a pic of an almost identical one (same colour, but the one pictured has a non-OEM horn, and no luggage rack.)[image: Attached Image: CB175.jpg]

1996 Yamaha FZR 600. This one is not mine but looks exactly the same, even down to the tank protector. I rode it all over California every day for almost 4 years.

The Nighthawk S in front was my first. (Actually, that particular one was my 3rd, but the first two looked just like it. I owned three 1985 Nighthawk S models.)

Haven't got a softcopy pic of my first bike but I found this one on the net which is pretty close (same colour, markings, and it's supposedly a 600) - but I had Staintune pipes.

I really loved that bike but sold it after buying my 5th Gen! I should've kept it

Conedogger that 700S is my all time favorite bike, I sure know why someone would have 3 of them. I still am enjoying mine and just hope it never wears out.

My bikes

Here are my girl friends of time past. Starting off with a 67 Honda S90, 73 Honda SL100, 73 Yamaha CT175, 75 Honda XL350

My first street bike was a 82 Honda CB650, my wife and I toured much of the US on that thing, not knowing any better. Tent, sleeping bags, and a backpack on the backrest. The bike always got us to were we were going and home again.

I bought this '92 Nighthawk off the "lemon lot" on base while stationed in Alaska in 1996. I've put a little over 40k on it since then. It was my daily rider until my wife decided she was ready for an upgrade from the CM400T that she was riding. She said why don't you get another bike, and I'll take over the Nighthawk. That's how the VFR ended up in the garage. The wife hasn't ridden in over a year, but the Nighthawk is just a cheap good bike to keep around. Plus, it was the vehicle of choice for our first date, so it has some sentimental value.

First large road bike was VF750FD. Bought the bike second hand very cheap as owner needed $$. Once at home spent all night cleaning it and was unrecognisable the next day. Put not common 4 into 1 system on it and sounded great. This day at a race track was expensive as hard chroming on cam followers failed. Mate on Kawa Turbo also lunched turbo!

The 2006 (and 2005 elsewhere) had USDs but they were still like riding a marshmallow. Kindof a pity; I think there were (are) more aftermarket mods for the conventional forks.

This is my first one: 1996 FZR600/ Had it in High School; thought it was cool until my friend showed up on a ZX7R....It had a K&N, Vance and Hines Slipon, LP Shield and YZF Mirrors. I probably put 25k on it in the first two years...

Then, thanks to some chic who lied to her coke-head boyfriend about a relationship with me that never existed; this happened while I was in the field with my NG Unit:

What a dick.

My first bike was a 1980 Honda CX500 Deluxe. I bought it in 93 with only 800 miles on it. All it needed was new tires. I rode it for 5,000 miles before "stepping up" to a 1987 Yamaha FZ700.

Neither of these bikes were my actual ones, but they were just like them (I didn't have the hard bags for the Yamaha though, but same color)

1978 Suzuki TS 250, got it in 1990 or '91, my first BIKE, got my moto license before my car license...
(not mine, but same bike none-the-less)

That's a more recent picture. I still have her and I'm in the process of restoring her to her original glory. Next time I'm visiting my parents, I'll see if I can dig up some old pics of when I brought her home.
