Does anybody know what color this is?

It's got to be Italian Red or Winning Red. I did a reverse part lookup on Ronayers.com and couldn't find it. I then checked by individual year (2002-2005) and couldn't find a match that way, either.

Find out which year. According to colorrite.com, it does make a difference.

That does appear to be an incomplete part no. It's either '02 R-157 Italian Red or '05 R-258 Winning Red like you say. They are very close in the red spectrum, but different, obviously. I'd e-mail the fleabay poster for more complete information.

I just heard back from the seller. He said he doesn't know what model year this cowl came from. He also said he is aware the part number is incomplete but that's what is stamped on the inside of the cowl.

My hunch is this came off an '05 Winning Red VFR. The reason I say that is the decals aren't white. Although I peeled the Interceptor stickers off my cowl a long time ago, I'm fairly certain they were mostly white (and the ones in the picture clearly aren't.

Somebody here's gotta know!

Looks like Italian Red R-157 to me.

Pretty sure that is R157 Italian Red. The "Interceptor" lettering on the side of the cowl was black on the '05 Winning Red and red on the '02 Italian Red, like the fleabay photos in your link. Unless some owner along the way changed the stickers around that pretty much confirms it's Italian Red.
