I was spraying Deep WOods in the garage the other night while I worked on the bike and I got some overspray on it. It cleaned easily from the painted surfaces but left little droplets all over the windscreen which refuse to clean off.
I've tried everything... honda polish, glass cleaner, dish soap, laundry soap, car soap, WD-40. I even put more bug spray on a rag to try and see if it would take the residue into solution. Nothing has worked at all.
Does anyone have any suggestions before I do something foolish, like take 1500grit sandpaper to it?
I don't use is often, but BlueMagic cleaner/polish seems to take care of my "hard to get cleaned off" issues. I bought a bottle of it at my local Honda dealer a couple of years ago for a blop of something on my Goldwing windshield. It go the spot off and didn't live any other marks. A few days ago, I was dealing with some unknown overspray on a used windshield I bought. I tried a lot of things like you. I was tempted to try steel wool. A rubbing compound for deep scratches worked for me. But put scratches on the shield. So then I used a polish for minor scatches which helped alot.
If you have a heat gun, you may want to try using it. Or maybe something like GooGone.
I'd try to buff them out with an electronic buffer.
Try some rubbing alcohol, might do the trick. Otherwise, try a medium abrasive polish, then a glass polish.
Bug spray will melt plastic. There is no way to fix your screen without some serious polishing as it is not residue.

Well I made it a hell of a lot worse with a wetsand... which I sort of suspected would happen. I'll try the Meguiars kit before I splurge on a new screen.
Ordinarily I'd take something like this as a great excuse to get a new aftermarket wind screen... but all the offerings currently available look really dorky to me.
I removed the shield and spent about an hour polishing with the Meguiar's kit. It did a pretty good job. Not good as new, but good enough. Saved me $150 for a new windshield.

Deet is an effective solvent and melts plastic.
