Dear all,
After destroying my first red DCT from 2010 in the beginning of March this year with 8,000 km on the clock in an accident, I have bought a new one, this time with the new color black. See pictures attached.
I have upgraded the bike as follows:
1. Engine improvement by Herbert Kainzinger, very professional, very well done (details here: http://www.tuningcompany.de/; http://vfr-1200-tuning.de/)
a. A new exhaust pipe system
b. Akrapovic Titan exhaust pipe (catalytic converter and air flap are both unchanged and legal noise and exhaust requirements are still met)
c. K&N air filter
d. Improved engine management adjusted on a dynamometer test bench
2. Chassis improvement, adjusted also by Herbert Kainzinger (very well done):
a. Öhlins rear shock
b. Öhlins fork suspension
c. ABM lever for easy trimming of the fork suspension in black
d. Tires exchanged by Dunlop Sportmax Sportsmart
3. Ergonomics:
a. Honda heated grips
b. Upgrade of the OEM seat by Sargent to make it a “Sargent World Sport Seat”, including heating (see pictures in separate post)
c. Brake lever from LSL in black
4. Cosmetics:
a. Rims painted in black
b. Heel guards painted in black
c. Puig racing screen in dark
d. Exchange of the huge OEM number plate holder by one from Kellermann
e. See through foil across the tank cover
f. Removal of passenger hand grips
g. Removal of passenger pegs and bag holders
5. Practical:
a. Honda rear hugger mudguard; will be exchanged by a carbon one from Geelong Carbon Craft (see detials on http://www.geelongca...r-Mudguard.html)
b. Electric QUICK-LOCK tankring for tank bag system from SW-Motech, including electric power supply for PDA etc. (see http://shop.sw-motec...047035,,,,.htm; a video can be seen here: http://shop.sw-motec...acke/index.html)

d. Socket in the left fairing beneath the seat
What I have ordered already but am still waiting for are:
a) Bazzaz traction control system
b) Motor Cruise cruise control (see details on http://www.mccruise....cat=482&page=1; also on this forum: http://www.vfrdiscus...r-7th-gen-vfrs/)
Finally I have in mind to amend also the rear of the bike probably by getting rid of the black circumventing plastic which is supposed to hold the bags and by cutting off the tail up to the seat lock. In addition, the huge rear light and indicators should also be exchanged by something smaller and more elegant. I hope some will have good ideas on that issue.
With the new Öhlins suspension and the improved engine management the bike is now performing extremely well, just as I had always wanted her to be. There are no throttle or low rev issues anymore left, you can drive constantly at any low speed with ease now, there are absolutely no uncertainties or damping weaknesses left in the chassis. Although it is still not a super sport model, I can assure you that it is now possible to follow even such bikes on the twistiest roads we have in our mountainous regions in the middle of Europe – and to enjoy it with a huge grin on my face!
