My Leo Vince install

For some strange reason, this 04 bike came with R1 pipes. Don't ask me why. :wacko:
They looked ok but they were way too quiet.

The clamp was easy to get loose with some liquid wrench. The pipe came right off with little effort.

after removing the under seat bolts, this guy was gone.

All the pieces for the Leos:

Removing the baffles was easy. Just undo the allen screw and pull the piece out.

Next, start assembling the pieces. do not install the springs yet.

Don't forget to properly set the rubber for the clamps:

Next, install the cans and start playing with proper alignment.

I read many other threads about these pieces and how some do not use them and end up having issues to get the cans in the right place/alignment. of course, the Leo instructions do not tell you anything about how to use these.

You need to remove the OEM rubber bushings. use a flat head screwdriver and push in the direction of the red arrow.

Here you see the aluminum bushings that came with the leos. You also need to use the 2 spacers that came with the kit.

Word of advice: Make sure the slip on clamp is TIGHTLY secured.
Mine started to come off.
I had to loosen the can clamps from under the seat to be able to push the pipe all the way in and then secure the clamps again.

Have you got any photo of your bike with R1 exhaust when they had not been taken off? Are they too much longer than the VFR OEM set?
I am still wondering the fitness of the (aftermarket) R1 exhausts to 6th VFR.
