I haven't seen a thread like this lately and there are a lot of new names in the forums. I always find these threads interesting for the diversity of jobs and careers that we all have.

I'm an aircraft maintenance engineer (an A&P for you guys down south).

Senior Quality Assurance Technician

I work on new product development of digital X-Ray capture devices for the Health and Industrial markets.

General Manager for an ESCo (Energy Services Company).

Data Security Analyst for a large Bank.

I sleep during the day.

At night, I do this:

I am on my third title this year, currently Supervisor of Capital Assets, previously, Corporate Strategic Model Analyst, and prior to that I was the Cash Flow Anaysis Manager, but basically just a bean counter...

i make balloon animals during the early morning and well into the night as as well.

Surgical Pathology PA.....I'm the guy who does the exam on anything you have removed during surgery. I also do autopsies.

Any music or 'sound' is acceptable, the therapy uses music as a kind of communicative bridge particulary with clients who cannot verbally respond - but hey, if you are offering to donate some of your original compositions... ;)

I fix roads. CA SR33 from Ojai to the SB county line primarily. Just payin' it forward......

Senior Magical Hot Rock Operator.

Gas Plant Operator.

I suck dinosaur farts out of the ground, and pump them to your house, after removing all the propane and ethane as liquids.

So the next time your furnace lights up, or you fire up your BBQ, you might be burning some of my best work!!!

I get to play with 1300hp gas turbines spinning 22,000 RPM, and 2200 HP turbocharged V-10 engines the size of your garage.

Plus a bunch of other smaller stuff. I make sure it's running smooth and available 24/7/365.

Start the engines, turn fans and pumps on and off, open and close valves, and hope things don't leak or freeze up, 'cause then I'm having a bad day.

Oh yeah, and most importantly: Keep the Genie in the bottle and don't let him out of the flare stack. Costs too damn much.

Professor of linguistics. Don't ask... But I know that one will, so here it is: I teach and I do research--when I'm not on VFRD... Research is done mostly at school with students as guinea pigs, but occasionally at VFR meets too. But don't tell anyone or my fellow members in the PNW will not want to ride with me anymore. Did you know that alcohol has some strange effects on the English language? :laugh:

I worked shift as an I&E Tech (Instrument & Electrical) for 15 yrs, but took a job as a Control Systems Specialist 4 yrs ago to work days. I maintain and program DCS & PLC systems for our plant. (Honeywell, Allen Bradley, Triconex, etc). Not sure where "Emmet" comes from though.

The only Emmet I can remember is "Dr. Emmett 'Doc' Brown" played by Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future.

I'm a sign fabricator, gets me working with a lot of different materials, something different going on all the time. I try to avoid the computer end of things though, more of a get my hands dirty guy.

I believe he ran the "fix it shop" next to Andy and Barney's Sheriff's office in Mayberry. I'm the "fix it" guy as an avocation - friends bring me their basket cases to resurrect - but only when I'm not tinkerin' with the VFR . My real job is as investment manager - mostly involves getting yelled at these days. :laugh:
