I didn't get a seat cowl with my 2000. I asked for any selling one on this and that other forum and have been watching ebay but for some reason they aren't common and they are expensive....So I am making one myself. I've been a boatbuilder, so it is not new making fiberglass stuff. I had some pink styrofoam building insulation around so I shaped the plug from that and glassed it with epoxy resin. Once I'm happy with the preliminary lay up for the cowl, I will dissolve the foam with Acetone and I'll have my part. Since I have a lot of bodywork to do on the rest of the fairing before I re-paint, I will just add the raw seat cowl to the stack and finish it like the rest.
I think $130 plus shipping is a bit over the top for a Honda part. China ones are up there, too.
I made mine somewhat lower profile than the stock one, which strikes me as 'too tall' looking...makes the bikes look awkward..in my eyes, of course.
