Danmoto Clip-ons?

A search didn't come up with much actual experience with these.
Since this thread has some age on it, I thought maybe some more of you might have tried them and have some opinions.

I have not used them but I am using the Heli-Bar clip ons.  These are $200 less than the Heli Bars new which is a huge positive. They are also more adjustable than the Heli-Bars.  If I could angle the ends of the Heli-bars down a few more degrees, I would like them better but that is definitely a personal preference.

On the negative side, it is not clear if the Dan-Moto units offer any additional rise as compared to the Heli-bars or the stock units.  Also, it does not look like you can insert the bar end dampeners in the Dan Moto units

All in all, if I was still shopping, I would take the chance on the Dan-Moto units.

I have seen these bars as low as $160 and they have up to a 3 inch rise.

It appears that the lack of response should tell me something.
The Helibars seem to have good reviews from the many, many users.
The Danmoto bars have less than stellar reviews from the very, very few users I found with a Google search.
There has also been some less than complimentary comments about several Danmoto products.
Looks like I need to save some money for the Helibars.

As it often is, "Too good to be true".

I plan to buy a set soon, but you can buy direct from the Manufacture for less. Or is Dan the Man? :tongue:

It will be interesting to read your thoughts after buying them.
My link is to the Danmoto site and the price was $69 plus shipping of $31.30.
A little over 100 bucks that would go a long way towards the $279 for Helis at my dealers.
My dealer can't discount the Helibar price, but I think they would give me a break on having them installed there.

So......

Danmoto pros:
1. Low price.
2. Infinite adjustability. (also listed as a possible con)

Danmoto cons:
1. Questionable quality of construction. I wonder how much of the cosmetic flaws reflect the quality of welding and the actual material itself.
I'm pretty sure I read where one buyer had enough problems that Danmoto replaced his bars. I don't remeber if it was a general recall or just for that individual's problem.
2. Infinite adjustability. It was mentioned that getting the bars adjusted properly and having them symmetrical was a challenge.
The three clamp adjustments concern me a little since thats 6 areas to keep track of for tightness.
I was considering having the clamps tackwelded in place once I decided how I wanted the bars adjusted. (Not on the forks)
3. No reviews on their site. Could the reason for that be their statement, "Reviews require prior approval before they will be displayed"?
Sure cuts down on any negative reviews.

Helibar pros:
1. Never read anything but good comments about them. Hundreds of them.
2. Purchased through my dealer, the $279 will guarantee me the product in good shape. Any problems and my dealer will take care of them.
3. My dealer will install them for a nominal fee and based on their past work for me, the installation will be done right.

Helibar cons:
1. They aren't cheap.
2. Not everyone loves the angle or position, but that's a pretty individual choice. Lots of people like the OEM bars on the VFR.

Based entirely on what little information I have been able to collect on Danmoto bars, I think any bar change will be to the Helibars.
