For anyone that's looking for a replacement exhaust cannister, now is the time to get on. Hindle is having a major sale on their older, discontinued exhausts. Follow the link, page 3, about 2/3-3/4 of the way down, you'll see what's listed for the VFR. I don't have any experience with Hindle, but figured that someone here could use this info...
I just changed out my subframe the other day. And for a guy with no mechanical experience, that was enough of a project for me! Although I would like something other thanmy oem cans, I. Can think of other things to buy for the bike, or the wife, or the kids.....sheesh! Or just the bike! ;)
Can I use one of these exhausts on my '92? Says '94-'97, but is it much different?
You would need to get a set of '94-'97 headpipes, and bolt them on. They are a direct fit, but you lose the centerstand in the process.
Either that, or cut off and adapt the funky ball and socket joint where your current factory exhaust connects to the collector box and join the new slipon to that. It will probably look cobby though.
I would go with option 1, as you lose the collector box and save a ton of weight.
