Would this be the place to have an open discussion on pros n cons of a system for pre arranging tour layover sites.
There is lots of discussion on which National/State/Provincial parks to stay in on long cross country rides, what gear to carry, what routes to take thro' states and provinces that are scenic, and exciting for sport tour rides, what "local weather" is like on or near the time that riders may pass thro' an area.
Wrap up those factors where VFRD members wanting to offer their home to riders provide their location, when they can offer accomodation, what they can provide for accomodation. Fellow touring riders could have a one night stop over without having to pay park/campsite fees or motel fees. No exchange of cash, just basic hospitality offered to like minded bike riders,
A host would get his or her payment when they book in to another members home on their own cross country blast. Sort of paying it forward among the VFRD community.
Is this opening up a can of worms ?? ... or is it something that can be added to the forums for folks setting up for long rides, and short budgets.
If this is a really bad idea I am sure as hell gonna catch some flak. But ya never know unless you ask.
