Now that the weather is starting to get better again Im starting to think more about good rides instead of just commuting. Im still pretty new to the VFR world and this forum and was thinking I would love to meet up with all you guys in the Bay Area and go for a ride!
So does this stuff work? Do we all just try to agree on a time and place? Maybe we might need to wait a bit longer until the roads are nice and clean and it gets warmer but im anxious! :tour:
When I resolve my charging issues, I'm game. Also several motorcycle meetup groups in the area.

If you plan it they will come....
Hello guys, good pm! Im new to the site and I will look forward to this ride. Thanks
Unfortunately my work schedule changes all the time, but if anyone sets it up I might be game if it's land in the middle of the week. If any one is up my ways east bay Oakland PM me.
Judging by the map, it looks like most people are in the city and the east bay. I only know the roads north of the bridge so i dont know whats good otherwise. Looks like there are some great roads in the south bay.
So if anyone wanted to chime in with recommendations for roads to hit and times that work for them I can figure out what works for the most people. But i know there are way more riders out there who havent spoken up yet!
84, 92, 35, 9 in south. Niles Canyon and related roads to Livermore in the "near east."
Even Tilden park behind Berkeley has an hour or so of good roads that get regular attention.
Still getting my bike sorted, but looking at May/June as an opportune time.
Not a VFR ride and probably a pretty slow pace, but a Bay Area group is heading over 5 bridges and hitting some of the roads I mentioned April 14th.

That ride is NOT a 'slow pace'. Leaving Newark at 9:45 and hitting those five bridges by nightfall is at least six hours of very aggressive riding. The page in that link says 'An Intermediate to Advanced level of skill will most likely be needed to enjoy this day'. I've not been on that ride; but have been on other similar rides in the area, and I would guess you can plan on 200+ miles at a pace that some will find uncomfortable.
Tc339. I am in Santa rosa and a going to wed. Night drags at infeneion just to check out and just wanted to take the bike out

Did the ride. Had a blast. Pace was OK, but to be expected in a large 20+ group ride with all types of bikes. 6+ hours in saddle.

Hey rcosta, I work till 3ish but shoot me a text or something if you want to ride a bit. 707-508-7337
This is a good way to keep up with planned rides in our area. I'm game for any North Bay rides. They're some really nice roads up near Napa & Lake Berryessa, if anyone would like to come up I'd be happy to show you around.
I have to go meet someone in San Jose around 2pm this friday. Im buying some leather riding pants. slowly trying to move away from textile.
Why not make a ride out of it.
This is what I am planning:

Anyone care to join for part of it?
First half looks like much more fun (i.e. less traffic) than the second half, particularly on a Friday afternoon. I like the idea of taking the scenic route though.
I am new to the area and don't know a soul here! I live in Walnut Creek and would love to meet some new people for a ride. Also, I am new to my 2002 VFR. :-)
