Recent Y2K Mirror Upgrade for '98 - '99

This is what I recently purchased for my '99:

This is to go the non-condom route with Emgo imitation 2000-2001 mirrors (fit the 1999 perfectly).

You will need the following:

Qty 2 Honda Part# 71-88113-MBG-D00 Rubber, Mirror Base (I purchased from Powersports Plus - $6.45 total incl. shipping, but Ron Ayers, etc. will carry as well)

Qty. 1 Emgo Part# 20-37342 Left Mirror (I purchased from Amazon at about $34/ea.)
Qty. 1 Emgo Part# 20-37341 Right Mirror (same as above)

I really despise the condom mirrors, but to each his own.

You will also need four (4) socket head capscrews from the local hardware store.

Pictures please. I so want to quit having to use condoms.

Here is a photo of these mirrors installed.  Look exactly like a 2000-2001 stock mirror install.

I found that the commonly available socket head capscrews would rust quite easily, so I swapped them out for stainless versions.

The OE Honda shc's have a better coating on them, but are also more expensive.

I have the emgos as shown above and am running them with extenders, but the EMGO bolts on the mirror stalk pivots also corrode after a season or so. I hit them with some gloss black spraypaint dabbed on with a q-tip.

Just in case there is anyone else who is watching/bookmarked this thread, Amazon has both the left & right bundled for $55.46!

I have already spent my allowance for the month, but thought someone might want to know about this.
