Cleaning/Painting Rear Wheel?

Hello,

This is my first post...so I hope I'm in the right area for this.  As per the pictures, I have some (oil/brake?) droplets that now appear to be part of the rear wheel.  I've tried WD 40, Goo Gone, brake cleaner, and finally acetone...which made the spot go white (likely not the brightest move).  Any suggestions regarding how I can remove the discoloration (cleaning/painting/etc.) would be a great help.  I want to avoid getting the wheel refinished, if possible.

Have never seen chain or motor oil do that. If that's Brake fluid marks, I think it's cooked...

You might be able to have a can of touch-up paint matched by a auto paint shop locally (or direct from Honda?). In which case, paint it on nice and thin in several layers, then block wetsand carefully at 1500 and buff. Certainly easier than refinishing the whole wheel.

In the future, attempt using PJ1 SuperClean to clean your rims or any other tenacious
dirt, grease, chain oil, etc, etc. in aerosol can at bike dealerships or online.

Thanks for the responses, guys.  I was wondering if it was battery acid...but the effluent hose is nowhere near.  I'm going to contact Honda tomorrow...and will also see if PJ1 is distributed here in the hinterland.
