Bah!
Was I really a BMW afficianado when I owned a R45 and a K100RS?
At Assen WSBK, BMW ran a competition in which you could win a ride on a S1000RR. With Douglasthecook's help (walking racing encyclopedia), naming some riders that raced de Beemer was a breeze. I promised Doug that should I win, I'd post up here...
Well, fast forward to last week. Got a call from BMW Nederland; I was a lucky winner.
BUT after some friendly chitchat, the question "will you buy a new bike this year?" emerged.
Once I said no, but would love to ride the S1000RR, things cooled down. It was realy meant for potential customers only..
Having known my local dealer for a long time and realising that this "prize" would be on his and not BMW Nederland's account, I asked them to pass my info on to Arie Molenaar. That there is someone who loves to ride but will not buy.
Needless to say, no response, which I can undersand from the dealer's perspective.
So BMW, *great* competition......
