Exhaust heat

My 2000 is tending to give off a pretty fair amount of heat on my right lower leg and boot.  It's obviously coming from the exhaust and I figure it's the from the area of the pipe just before the can.  My exhaust is stock.  Temp gauge is within tolerance (no blinking lights for too hot).

It hasn't even gotten hot here yet so I'm wonding if there is any fix I can make to sheild my leg from the heat.  I'm also a bit worried about passengers being uncomfortable.

Any thoughts or suggestions for this?

Depending on how much you want to spend, you could either use an exhaust wrap ($) or get your pipes ceramic coated ($$$)

wraps help but does not eliminate
