So I tried the search and it comes up with nothing! Don't no why as this topic has been covered lots I know.

Anyway simple question which one is better and best to install as a temperary cruze ?  What model number works the best? I am sure I read once that the yamaha ones were better on the vfr or somthing like that.

I don't remember the model number, but my NEP has been getting daily use for many year now, I wouldn't be without one. The Vista Cruise is thicker and may or may not need to be modified to keep it from hitting the gas tank.

My brother put a Vista on his 3rd gen, and a NEP on his 5th.  He is much happier with the NEP.

The Vista looks better but the NEP works better...........I cut the thumb switch in half, in my opinion it just doesn't need to be that long.

It boils down to whether you want the thumb lever on top or on bottom.  The Nep sticks out on top and the Vista sits down in front of the starter button.  I use the Vista, which does have to be modded slightly.  It is a little in the way of the starter, so you might embarrass yourself if you stall at an intersection and try to do a panic start and bolt.
I've got pictures of the Vista mod in my gallery, but the great VFR.D crash wiped out the how-to thread.  I think somebody else has one on the current version of VFR.D.

I've got the Vista on my 6th Gen.  Had to cut the thumb lever so it wouldn't hit the tank at full lock.  Also thinned it some on a bench grinder.  Works perfect now.  Can't live without it.

Had both...modified vista is perfect.

Had vista on my old vf, couldn't ever get a good adjustment. Either too tight and throttle wouldn't return freely when not in use, if i backed off the adjustment then it wouldn't hold the throttle when needed. Had nep on my 5th Gen and just put one on my 6th Gen. They both work great!

NEP is the way to go.  I have them on both my bikes.

I have the NEP. Simple thing that makes life so great.

See?  I told you so. Both have their fan clubs.  It boils down to personal preference.

I have the Vista and never had a problem with it hitting the tank (so my didn't have to cut my thumb lever). I am running Heli-bars though, so they may be turned out a little to avoid the tank compared to stock bars.

One thing I figured out with the last one I put on was I had to use a little silicone spray between the cruise and the grip because it was sticking. Once I did that, it worked nice and smooth.

I've got NEP. It is a care free devise the requires very little modification if any to work great. I couldn't live with out it on some of the long rides to the twistys. Nebraska is flat and streight.

What model NEP is needed for a 5th gen and are they difficult to install?
Thanks,
