Many of you remember the great box kicking ride of 2007 linked here http://www.vfrdiscus...ley#entry442012 and I made a run up that way from TexasMac on Thursday this year.

I am in the early stages of planning a Fall Ride for this year.

The tentative date is September 26th - 30th.

If anyone absolutely wants to be there and bring 4-6 people but can not make that weekend, the dates may move forward a week to September 19-23 but the date will be firmly set in two weeks.

I have contacted a few hotels to inquire about room rates and meeting space.

We will have a night ride on Thursday evening through Shady Valley.  I hope we have at least four or five cameras rolling on that ride. Shady Valley and the Playground is the area where the Night Ride will take place (hat tip to IronMan - nee VFR01 for the original nite ride in 2007).

Just indicate in this thread your interest in attending and I will post more details after July 4th.

Keith

Hell yeah I'm first in  !!!!!!!!!!

I'll keep my eye on this.  Work may or may not be a problem.  I'd love to get back in that area to hit up the Ridgewood BBQ.

After the wife's inconsiderate timing with her gallbladder forced me to miss TMac, I'm in! Let me know if you need any help. I'm sure Doug will be in.

Good thing it is in bristil Va.  I wont go anywhere near bristol Tenn.
#6
Careful there Timmy...two of the five hotels under review are in TN.....and the farthest away is in Abingdon, VA (about 15 minutes up 81)
#7
It's on my radar. Going to be pretty tight as I usually host my Fall Ride the first full weekend in October.
#8
Keith, one side of Main street in Bristol is Va and one side is Tenn.

Night ride eh?   I ate too many lead paint chips as a child and now I have lock jaw and night vision.

In my hotel price requests I am asking for rates for Sept 26-30 and the week prior (sept 19-23) but I am trying to miss some of the fall story telling festivals and music festivals that populate the area.

I hope it will work out for you but I understand if back to back weekends are a no go.

I'm interested.  Not yet certain if schedule permits.  Just try to do a better job prescreening the german riding riff-raff from Charlotte.

Any chance we can get the Charlotte crew to clear all the bricks from the road?

Dick...........ha

If we cleared all the boxes and bricks away, what would we have to talk about? Certainly not how well Keith rides! Ha

I was gonna be nice but Uncle Remus shows up and ruins it for everyone....

Well, I am about 20 miles from Bristol, and I do the Shady Valley run a good bit, hopefully I can make it.
#17

Have it narrowed to three hotels, waiting to hear back from them on the bid to see which one to select.  Will have hotel sign up posted before this weekend.

The dates are good, no big groups or gatherings in the area for that weekend so lock in your kitchen passes and work schedule.

We must have minimum 15 rooms to make it work and depending on which hotel we go with the group rates may end around August 29th so sign up early.
