Put my first 500 miles on my 99 VFR800 and just wanted to post my thoughts.
She rides like an dream and has plenty of pull and grunt for me.
I need to soften up the suspension tomorrow. She was set for 100lbs of gear from a prior trip cross country. Leaving the ground with my light ass on her is not an option. My back took a couple good shots today.
The Corbin saddle is the best i rode since the Corbin I had on a VF750 many years ago.
The two brothers pipe gives just enough sound to let me know the engine is pulling without being annoying. Contenplated throwing in ear plugs but havnt wanted to mute the music from the pipe yet.
Has to run right over a skunk today. It was dead already but it was dead center of the road and the cars aread blocked its view from me. The bike keped its line without even a hickup. She just stinks like old meat now.
Stock bars were ok, i could complain and raise them but i blame my old back and the abuse i have givin it. Probably sticking with the stockers and just stretching a little more. Compromise, but i like the look of the stockers and dont want to mess with it.
Really very happy with the bike and after a little tweaking she will me dialed in for me. The V4 is really a pleasure to listen to. The Fuel injection is the most responsive throttle i have ever used. Specifically when coming off the throttle and feathering.
