Staintune Slip On.

Hey folks, just wondering if anyone can answer a question for me.
I just purchased a used staintunes system of a fellow vfrd lad.
My bike is an 03 and I am not sure if I have to re-jet it or wether I need a power commander .

err, if your bike is an 03 you do know you dont have (carby) jets, you have fuel injectors instead?

Also, you wont really need a Powercommander, but it certainly wont hurt. But then you'll also need O2 eliminators (easy) and then you might as well change the air filter, block off the PAIR valves, and get it dynoed.

Not really, it's designed for sound rather than flow. The catalytic converter is the limiting factor if anything.

Having said that, the top end benefits a bit from a Power Commander regardless of Staintunes or not.

After listening to WAY TOO MANY youtube sound clips, I think I've settled on Leo Vince for Christmas. Looking forward to losing the sewing machine sound....or lack of sound. After D&Ds on my 4th gen, I can't tell if this thing is running or not. Highway speed = wind and tire noise and nothing from the rear end. :schla15:

If you wear earplugs, the only thing you can hear is the Staintunes!

Its really true Kaldek. Earplugs make all the difference.

Ear plugs made all the difference with my D&Ds as well. All day on a loud bike made my ears ring at night. I wasn't dissin' the Staintunes, I was mostly commenting that the stock pipes make the VFR soundproof.
