Worthless "farkle" - Rear Cowl Plug Aquired!

Since I am going stir crazy not riding, I seem to be buying things left and right. I found this while looking at parts fiche for replacement fairing bolts and I just had to have it!

Part number and name: 71-77222-MBG-000 : PLUG, RR. COWL (Usually item 18 on actual fiche for the rear cowl) $3.55 @ Partszilla

Man, I just ordered ~$150 worth of stuff from there, should have thrown that in while I was at it...

Yes, it prevents it by not letting the cowl be installed. At least on the 5th gen, the cowl slides in that slot and then gets held in place by the Frankenbolts.

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones, my bike came with that plug.

I've not heard of the frankenbolt, but are you talking about cowl plug that are on the side? Item #2 on this image:

If so, then yes! I picked up two of those as well - $2.83 each. The PO of my bike was obviously a douchebag that didn't deserve her. He kept none of the little things and didn't take care of the big things. Luckily he didn't own her long enough to cause any damage!

Wera beat me to it, but no. This is just so that you don't have an ugly slotted hole visible when the cowl is off the bike. And I never have my cowl on.

Oh, I thought it was a 6th gen tail, sorry.
