I have been prepping the VFR for the season and for the SGT in May. Changed the oil and filter today and was about to drain and replace the coolant. I removed the radiator cap and saw what is definitely not your regular anti-freeze/coolant. It is a clear/pureilish color and is very clean. I'm asumming the purple color is a certain brand?? Anyone know what brand the purple color is?
I'm not having any overheating issues...although it is still winter. I would like to know what brand this is so I can pick some up to have on hand and how often do you folks replace your "wetter water"?

I replace my water wetter when i replace the radiator fluid(which isn't often)
I run straight distilled water and water wetter in my system because here in Virginia i don't ride under 40 degrees and the garage sits around 60 degrees.

Well..I'm not sure. I've never used any of the mentioned products before..not saying I wouldn't. Does the engine ice have a purple tint to it after you filled the system?
Yeah Id say the purple or blue tint is probably Engine ice, the stuff is biodegradable so Id keep an eye on it.
With a Post 100,000 mile water pump, prestone has done just fine over the life of the bike and had none of the thermo issues that so many are plaqued with.
Thank you. I agree it's probably Engine Ice that's in there. I'm assuming the Engine Ice is quite a bit more costly than a standard anti-freeze/coolant? I'll check out the websites for that. I've had the bike running at a stand still a few times now just to see if it does have a over heating issue. All seems well...temp rises at a steady pace...fans come on around 217 degrees...temp drops down fairly quickly and fans shut off around 200.

Prolly gonna go back to distilled water and water wetter so I can do a track day on short notice this summer.
Agree with previous poster that its probably engine Ice. Its not too bad on price. I've been having good results with the top of the line motul coolant and their fancy racing additive in my 5th gen and my riding buddies RC51 (talk about a hot running bike)

It was pretty trashed. I lowsided it on 129 and it went down the hill about 75 feet. By the time I had fuel to get it home and repairs I was in way more than it was worth. I mailed the towing co (can't remember the name) the title
