High Mount - Soft Baggage Heat Shield

Anyone fab'd a heat sheild for the 5th Gen with a high mount exhaust?

I'm headed down that road and would appreciate any input.

I see using the exhaust hanger, rear reflector mount as mounting points. Was thinking aluminum plate of some thickness?? wrapped in header tape on the inside. Also, you can buy heatshield sheets, looks to be stamped aluminum similar to formed header sheilds on cars.

Anyone done it?

There's a guy on the other VFR forum who fabricated a set of standoffs that screwed into the holes where the passenger handles usually go. That was on a 6th-gen, but I'm sure you could do the same for yours as long as they left a little bit of room around the exhaust.

I use a carbon fiber scorpion can so no heat shield required. Velcro strap sits right on it no problem.
