so, we've just started getting temperatures below 10C at night, and my bike doesn't seem to like it. the idle sits about 2000 rpm when cold and will stay there IF i don't hit the throttle. if i pull some throttle, the idle goes up to >3000 rpm until the bike reaches about 80C, at which point the idle comes back down below 2000 rpm.
at full operating temperature (>90C), the idle is about 1400 rpm.
ideas? cold throttle cable sticking? some engine component sticking open?
Probably the fast idle wax assembly check specs in manual to see what rpm it is supposed to idle at cold seems a bit too high .

try recalibrating your bike to fahrenheit
Or none of the above - the bike will adjust to run idle to get hot so if you let the beast get cold, the beast get angry.....Let the beast get hot and all will be good. Let it warm slow on idle for a while (+10 mins) then shut it off, give it a few, and then restart. you will be fine.
It's the way they setup the computer. When it reads cold air cold temp it will always idle high.

This saved my bacon. I just got done replacing hoses and the thermostat. All back together and fired it up, 2000rpm, after a few it went to 3500. Shut it down to look on the board about the issue and found this thread. A quick shot or three of wd-40 and cycling the starter valve lever and the bike idled nicely at 1200 rpm.
A much better solution than ripping the throttle body off the bike again. It wasn't a bad job just don't want to have to put the air box bottom on again anytime soon.
Same exact problem here, well, when it was cold months ago. I am sure the issue is waiting for cold weather to come back. Bike was rarely used by previous owner so an 07 with 2K miles in 2014 had this issue. I'll squirt some Teflon lube on the linkage when the problem presents itself again and hopefully it is resolved. 2015 has been fantastic on my VFR.
