I have been wanting a power commander but couldn't seem to spend the money for a PC that didn't have the exact map for the USA VTEC with lasers. I contacted Laser Exhaust and this is what they said about providing a PC Map for the Laser Exhaust.
"We are always happy to hear another content Laser customer! Unfortunately we do not produce or provide any mappings for motor management systems. We leave this job to specialized companies like Dynojet / Powercommander. The powercommander should function well with the setting of a
"standard" sports slip on exhaust that is probably available from the supplier of Powercommander.

Does anyone have Lasers and use the "standard sports slip on exhaust" map?

How about going to a dynomometer with a wide-band O2 sensor and making your own map?  Isn't that the preferred method?

Does anyone know if there is any plan in the works for the PC (or another product) to control ignition timing and VTEC engagement point (in addition to fuel)?  I know all the piggy-backs for VTEC automobile ECUs have that functionality.

Getting a custom map is the best method but I don't think I should have to pay for a custom map with just one exhaust modification. All the other major exhaust manufactures have a map on the PC web site. I love the Lasers so I guess it's a trade off. It would be nice to know if any "stock power commander" maps work well with the lasers. Any one with lasers, PC and no custom map?

I have Lasers and PC... and have the same problem.
I contacted Dynojet and they told me that any map for a low restriction slip on will work fine. They recommend to install the map for Micron. I did and it worked fine. Power delivery with PC is very linear and at transition feels softer. It's there but is not so abrupt.
After a while I tried the Laser Map for the euro version. Small improvement over Micron map, and better response at lower rpms. I have that now and I'm happy with the results.
In any case, Power Commander and O2 eliminator is a big improbe.

I plan on getting a custom map done at a local dyno when I pick up a set of Lasers, but alas, that won't be until springtime.  Gotta buy the wife's bike first.

Maybe we can several of the VFR laser owners to pool they're money and send it to one person to get the custom map.  That way we split the cost of the dyno.   ???

I've guess Dynojet would do one if they have the set-up in there hands.  Anyone in Cali want to give their bike to science for a couple of days?

If not, polling cash seams to be the way to get it done.  It's worth 50 for me right now, even thought the Remus map seams to work better then everyone elses.

Coming back to this old post of mine because I'm about to order the PCIII USB and was wondering if anyone ended up getting a custom map for the USA '03 with laser exhaust? I would be willing to donate $ for it.

Yeah I had a Euro Lazer set up..then cotacted Dyno and they said it might be running tooo= rich I should switch to Micron.No problem.I'm down for a $ pool for the map.

Me too...I am using the Euro map and it seems to work fine so far.

Yeas, Euro Map works fine for my 03. Better than low restricition Micron.

Alright i ordered the PC and I'll try that map. I can't wait. I am surprised all us laser PC owners spent the bank and didn't go the extra mile for the custom map. Thanks all for the replies.

Xavi: Once you try PC with any map, even the standard one, you'll notice a big improvement. Try different maps and you'll see that things don't change THAT much. There's no need for the Custom ( $ 300 around here ) map, IMO
My bike power delivery is really smooth and linear with any map, and differences are gas consumption and 7k kick intensity in lower gears.
Couldn't catch Mr Bailey in the Cherohala anyway... and he didn't have one !! :beer:

As soon as it will get warm I think I will "brake down" and do dyno/map for Lazers.
What do you guys think, if you want when I'll do it I can make a copy of the Dyno CD/map say for $30 or so?
