Rear Preload Adjuster Stiff / Frozen Up

I have a two month old Honda 2012 VFR1200, 2000 miles. 

The rear pre-load adjuster is now completely frozen and am unable to adjust the rear suspension.  I understand this is a common problem. 

The bike is under warranty and I have just been told by Honda via the local Honda dealer that they are unaware of this problem and to bring it in for removal so we they can diagnose the problem.  Does anyone have any information on the fix, new part numbers, etc. Thanks.

Update. Rear shock replaced. The latest part number for USA models. 52400-MGE-355. No problems so far.

Wow, now the 2012 model with reliability problems already.  What is up with Honda and the VFR?  Knock on wood, I haven't had any issues at all with my 2011 CB1000R.  Glad you got them to replace your shock in a timely fashion...

I don't plan on keeping replacing one crap design with the same one, warranty or not. Some of us need their bike for transport.

Once the bike is sold - hm that KTM 1290R engine should do nicely in something else - that Öhlins or whatever it'll turn out to be can be sold separately.

Thanks, Spinalator for the info! Wilbers starts at about 850 euro. At to that the hydraulic remote preload adjuster and you're done. Had Wilbers before, it's better than my riding skills and last forever. Well, longer than I'll have the bike anyway.

If mine ever freeze up, I'll for sure get this Ohlins or a Penske double.
