Been following those for a while. The Roam2 is built in water resistant for only a few bucks more.
I'm looking at this one now:

Available at Amazon too:

Hmmm, wondering if they are getting ready for a product update?
I've got the Roam 1600 and enjoy the simplicity of operation and mounting. Solid little unit.
Been looking for a second or third used one for multi angle videos on one ride. This might be the ticket.
I read that GoPro just did an update to their unit.
Wonder if I can get these to Canada without being raped on shipping, customs, broker and sucker charges.
Sorry to break your heart, but they went under a few months ago.

That's why the little Veho Muvi HD 10 is looking pretty attractive. The kit with all the attachments and waterproof case is about $190.
Any reviews of the Roam2 from VFRD? What do you guys think of it?
Can someone give me a dimension from the back of the camera to the tripod mount?
On mine, it's 1 & 3/4" from the back of the housing to the center of the standard tripod mount.
I'm pretty happy with the unit. Mostly recording in 720 for the best quality combined with space on card (using a couple of 8 Gb).
It's rugged, the mounting feels solid with plenty of options. Easy to offload images / video directly from the unit via usb cord or by popping the micro SD card out.
One of the draw backs is that you can't change settings unless you have a computer. There are a couple units that can be accessed by an app, but not mine.
Battery life seams fine for day tripping. Again some models have a user replaceable - not mine.
I'm going to try and order an underwater housing for an upcoming and future dive trips.
I'd be inclined to find one more at a sell off price somewhere, use it as I can for the coming 3-4-5 years and see what's new then.
Perhaps Google glass will be modified into helmets by then (or implants available directly to our skulls?).
Thanks for the reply. I'm watching the prices hoping for a Black Friday deal. Wish it had a microphone jack. I have an external mic that I would like to use with it.
I usually tone the mic down quite a bit. Removes the excess wind noise which is always quite annoying.
If you find a Smok'n deal on one, send me a PM cause I'd like a second + that dive housing.
The link at the first post has the Roam with water kit for $125. Not the cheapest I've seen it, but pretty close.
