I updated the post with an optional Orange County meeting location, as a rider from another forum will be joining us on the slab up to Azusa.

Yeah I know, who carries cash anymore!

Just got back from 3 days in Del Mar. Maybe next time. Hope you all have a great ride.

It'll be a few more years before the kid can ride his own, and I'm not getting a Goldwing or K1600 just to give him a ride. Have fun.

We had a great ride this morning. Sorry you guys couldn't make it; maybe next time!

[image: gallery_28730_7103_71774.jpg]It got a bit chilly in the shady areas, but warmed right up in the sun.

Great scenery as you pass two reservoirs serving L.A. County.

A few years ago this route was closed, but they have since re-paved the roads (much to motorcyclist's enjoyment).

The roads begin to get more advanced as you ride up the mountain.

Arriving at the top of CA-39. In the future we hope they will finish clearing the road all the way up to CA-2 (Angles Crest).

A lookout over CA-39; an amazing road.

It was 13 degrees F this morning here...don't talk to me about a little chilly in the shade...

I had a last minute change of mind today and took the Buell out to Palomar/Borrego Springs again.  This kind of weather this time of year is a gift and shouldn't be wasted!  I thought about joining you but I was really jonesing for the desert.  Duc2V4 and I ride quite a bit so we'll catch you on the next run.

Thanks for the pics. Looks like a great day. I spent much of the day working on my RC36.

Don't expect the upper part of 39 to reopen in our lifetime.

Love my backyard. One day a week I extend my ride home visit my old fishing area roads.

I agree that hwy 39 to hwy 2 will never be reopened.

I was really surprised a couple years ago when they repaired, repaved and reopened the upper 7 miles or so.
