Top on my winter list of things to do on the bike was to give it a bit more bark. I decided to cut down the Yoshi slipon. Upon disassembling the slipon I can tell you after 20K there was no need to ever even think about repacking this unit, it was fine. My goal was to still use the factory badge (wasn't going to just put rivets in the holes to cover them) and to make sure the clamp wasn't over the badge. What I ended up with was about 5" cut, I consider stubby being cut in half so will call it not so stubby. I also decided to have the unit coated, sent it off to Jet Hot which turned out to be somewhat of a mess and added another month here shipping things back and forth and back and forth. Although its not yet installed due to the arctic moving into my garage, here's a tease. I hope to soon post before and after pics, dB level changes and a sound clip as well.

That looks fantastic. I've always like matte finishes. I've been tempted to bead-blast my Staintune, but my brother says I had better like it because it would take DAYS to get the factory polish back.

Actually I can't take credit for that as it all ceramic coated, black is just another layer. But one of the reasons I sent it back was a run on the tip, but that was the minor reason.

So it was a little warmer today, but damn that bike was slow warming up, never over 160. The sound is deeper, cackles a bit from behind. It is a bit louder but I did not do the dB testing, when I get more time. This is with like 5 minutes of run time, canister never even got hot to the touch so I'm sure it will burn in some.
