Because I'm a glutton for punishment and like to spend money frivolously, well sometimes, I bought another set of pre-2000 VFR800 headers for my 6 Gen (read: Cat-less). I have a set now that was meant for my 5 Gen, which I had been ceramic coated and are ready for installation. However, since the 6 Gen already has a PCV, O2 eliminators, and Two Bros exhaust installed, I was thinking of putting these headers on my 6 Gen and get the other set ceramic coated and installed on my 5 Gen.
Based on what I can see from a cursory view, the front part should be relatively simple, it's the rear half that looks like it could be more of a chore. Anyone who has done a header replacement or install have any pointers?
I have look at mine a couple of times and thought about headers then realized what it would take and declined .

Contact Delkovic directly, it's cheaper than EBay.

If you ever think you might want to put an Auto Tune on the bike, don't forget to weld in an O2 bung in the catless header before you have it ceramic coated.

Sort of. I have a 2001 that I put ceramic coated cat-less headers on. I currently have a PCIII and thought about putting a PCV and auto tune, but of course did not put an O2 sensor bung on them. It isn't a huge deal for me, but can limit someone if the ultimate plan is to go in that direction.
I have the Motad cat-less headers on my '04. You're right on the front being easy, it's the rear connections that were a bit of a bia-tch.
It took quite a bit of farting around to line up with my Remus pipes, and thankfully I was at a friends - many years of bike mechanics, lift, tools, mood enhancers, etc.
I would HIGHLY suggest you have a second or even third set of the collector pipe gaskets.
The Honda specific ones were ridiculously expensive, but I did find that Yamaha ones were an exact fit and were much, much cheaper.
The other part that was a problem, was the collector pipe clamps. The pinch bolts that came on the Motad headers were all but useless and the supplied clamps were low quality and bent.
Again, picked up some stainless units from the local Napa and they did the trick splendidly.

Since then, the collector gaskets literally blew out on a long trip, sounding like a bad tank for the last few days of the ride.
Glad I had those extra gaskets, but again it was a fricken chore to get them in and lined up again.
