Shock Remote Reservoir Mounting

On my 6th gen I have the usual "zip tie it to the left sub-frame" mounting point, but my local suspension guy mounted the reservoir on my FZ1 a bit differently. He used 2" t-bolt hose clamps (used for automotive turbos) to mount the reservoir. I thought it was pretty cool and wanted to post it up as an idea for others.

Shouldn't you be looking into alternative fuels because by the time your bike is back on the road there won't be any petroleum products.

The rear hugger and rear fender are still in place, so it stays clean.

How come you didn't mount it on the left footpeg bracket? That's where my Elka/Ohlins hybrid's remote is mounted and it works really well there.

Hard not to rub the finish on the new rear shock. I even blue tape mine so as not to mess up the finish but the tape did not help .

These are pictures from his FZ-1, not from a VFR. So the left passenger foot peg and heat issues don't apply here.

It's an FZ1 so the exhaust comes off the front of the bike, underneath and then low on the right side.

My rear footpeg brackets were removed when I turned this into my fun bike. :beer:

Something to keep in mind is the shock generates its own heat - external sources of heat off the engine usually do not affect it. Heat from the exhaust is not an issue.

nc30 remote res bracket. Requires a couple holes in subframe and well nuts.

I finally mounted up the Fox TC on my 4th Gen, it came with a mount that work well. I had to bend the end of it and grind off an uggly weld on the subframe and notch the mount where I bent it so the body would clear, but it turned out nice!
