On my 6th gen I have the usual "zip tie it to the left sub-frame" mounting point, but my local suspension guy mounted the reservoir on my FZ1 a bit differently. He used 2" t-bolt hose clamps (used for automotive turbos) to mount the reservoir. I thought it was pretty cool and wanted to post it up as an idea for others.
Due to my 6th gen doesn't have link brakes so all those components are removed, it leaves a great location for the res & is easy to adjust you just undo one clip rhs flip up plastic cover & adjust.
Not sure if you want the reservoir out of the airflow and in where the heat off the exhausts can have an effect on it.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Something to keep in mind is the shock generates its own heat - external sources of heat off the engine usually do not affect it. Heat from the exhaust is not an issue.
I finally mounted up the Fox TC on my 4th Gen, it came with a mount that work well. I had to bend the end of it and grind off an uggly weld on the subframe and notch the mount where I bent it so the body would clear, but it turned out nice!
