Well Nuts

I know a few people on the forum had links to places to find/buy well nuts, Lowes Home Improvement Center being one of them. Well stopping by two different Lowes, I could not find the metric versions, then going online they had appeared to not have any in stock, so I went to the internet...Low and behold I found this place http://www.clipsandf..._Well_s/138.htm and was able to find metric well nuts! The best part of it is that they are local, in fact they are literally across the street from where I used to work!

Figured I'd share with the class, who knows, maybe someone already posted about this place but figured I share anyway. They sell them in bulk only, but at $14.15 for a box of 25 ($.56 ea.) why not buy them in bulk. Not like I'll never need them again, right?

I believe I have a new Honda one at home. I printed out their catalog page with all the dimensions, I will try and verify later today.

Several years ago I bought some aftermarket well nuts online and while the thread was correct the rubber body was just a tiny bit smaller diameter than the OEM version, making it very difficult to keep them from spinning in the hole when the bolt was turned. Can't remember where I got them, though.

Looks  like  Tmac  will  be  the  perfect  venue  to   distribute  said  parts.

I don't have the box at hand anymore, but I ordered a box from that vendor last spring for a bulk replacement of the dry rotted and permanently squished well-nuts on the bike.  The ones I ended up ordering were slightly shorter than the stockers and probably about the original diameter.  They were loose enough to fall out if you turned a fairing over but they tightened up just fine - no spinning.  I'll see if I can find the email receipt, maybe it has the part number.

The other thing I remembered was that I wish the rubber "head" was a little larger diameter.

Thats cheaper  for a  box  then  what  i paid  for  6  from  Partszilla.

Now if i could just find black chrome bolts to replace the stock chrome on the outside of the fairing, I know those rubber deals have to be shot, nice find. Suppose could never find a black replacement for that big flared one though.  Anyone ever try to replace the bottom fairing clips/push pins with this sort of setup?

I put quarter turn fasteners on the 2 bottom fairing connection points instead of the push pins.

Yes if anyone comes up with the real thing , speak out, I rather just get the oem if not as good.

I'm looking to change to the 1/4 turn Dzus, will any work? which ones do you recommend?  They have a lot of different sizes from what I see.  Thanks

I did the same thing... just added 10 to a Service Honda order last week...   gotta remember to search VFRd first!
