Last Thursday we went to one of my favourite museums which hosts a large collection of Mondriaan's work.

Even your President liked it!!

Piet is not all lines and boxes, he transitioned over the years to get there....

Saw one painting and in "sfarson mode" I thought that this would be my reason for riding today  :goofy:

Heading south west, a bridge was open to let ships/boats through, so that was an opportunity to show you how we can keep Rotterdam's feet dry come high water...

The town of Oostkapelle has this one

But the real thing is in Weskapelle

Build in 1470 (yes, not a typo) it was originally part of a church which buildings were  destroyed in the 80 year war with Spain (Dutch Revolt).

Since 1817 it is a lighthouse. Mondriaan painted it in 1909.

400+kms today.

All in in all, it was a "thumbs up"  day/ride!

That's some solid construction, lasting over 500 years and still in use. :beer:

The oldest buildings here are some Spanish missions less than 1/2 that age.

Although there are some trees more than twice your church lighthouse's age.

Keep the windmills turning. The designated one is much nicer looking than the ones in the first pic. :warranty:

Food is mussels?

Yes mussels, Zeeland is famous for them.

Fried with a bit of curry powder, onions, mushrooms!

Since it was once a church, the tower is right in the middle of town.  

As is the windmill that is clearing the roofs to catch as much wind as possible. It would have been used to grind the grains.
