Interesting that the article itself is rather complimentary, then the editors' remarks are all basically "meh."

wow topspeed 138 mph---??????????????????????
1986 vfr700 149 mph and the 750 did 153 mph wow -- thats sad-- and quarter mile times-- all these years didn't make it any faster costs as much as a new corrolla-- maybe the next one will be what it should be??

Could be a typo or could be true, as they must have done speed readings with a radar or laser speed traps and not the on-board speedo....which always reads a few percent high anyway.
I would not be surprised if most VFRs have top speeds close to or right at the 138mph they got from this new bike.......
Also consider that the new bike engine might still be tight and will have a few more MPH's to give after some miles......(at least 140+)
