Led turnsignal lamps

Has anyone found replacement lamps for the front and rear turnsignals which use LED's in lieu of convetional filament-style bulbs? I like the brilliance of the LED, but don't know where to find replacements for the stock ones.

There are lots of online LED stores.  Just look up the bulb type in the owners manual and find an LED replacement online.  They will need load resistors to keep the signal from flashing too fast.

A great way to spend $60.00 for something than can be accomplished for $6.00 (which is probably why they aren't OEM in the first place).

I can't tell from the service manual's schematic or diagnostic info if the turn signal / hazard relay is solid-state or mechanical.  Anyone know for sure?

Interesting question. The high beam relay is electromechanical (makes a sound on engagement) but there is absolutely no sound generated when the turn signal or 4-way flasher is engaged. Considering its integration with the ECU (talks to the ABS sensors to detect when the turn is completed) it might be solid state.

If it is a solid-state unit, no need to worry about load resistors. :-)

I guess the easy way to check is to buy some cheep LED bulbs, slap em on and see what happens.

You could always just remove a bulb, that should flash the remaining one faster.

Does the self cancellation still work properly?

Thanks all for the great answers. I'm not particularly interested in power savings, but LED's give a much brighter light, so I might actually alert some somnabulent cager that I'm intending to turn...
