I have been tempted to try these for my VFR but my Bridgestone T30s were just $200 for the set! It's hard to say no to Bridgestone when they are making such excellent tires for Shinko money.

Please let us know how the Verge 2X perform; I've seen many positive reviews

I'm well into my 2nd set of verge 2x's

they don't last long.  but they don't put up a fuss about serious,  SERIOUS sport riding,  they have a better profile,  better siping than the stealth or apex profiles,  and because of the dual compound,  they last as long as the apex while hanging on harder leaned over,  AND being better in the wet all the way to the expected end of life.  they're pretty damn good to the cord,  honestly.  

lived through being aired down for a all day short course trackday,   a 750 mile trip to ohio and back to NC,  countless hoon sessions on backroads,  lots of holeshots,  they really didn't leave me unconfident,  Ever.  

I can't say that about Pilot Power 3's in NC in the cold.  Pilot Power ver.1 got greasy in TX as well.  These cats don't even CARE about the cold.  I've spanked the bike at and near the freezing mark,  A LOT.  and in 40* drizzles they hang in like champs.  All weather supersport tire.

don't however expect forever from them.  Love em for what they are, cheap sticky and reliable.  Not for not being Pilot Road's.

Have you tried ordering from Pete's Superbike out of Quebec? They offer pretty competitive pricing and because of how strong the US dollar is at the moment, they're actually cheaper now than ordering out of the US.

As an example, Bridgestone S20 120/180 set for $280 CAD shipped to Calgary. eBay US pricing is around $245 USD shipped which adds up to $305 CAD if you ship it to a US address. If you ship it to Canada, you're going to have to add at least another $50 to that.

Expect to get 20% less mileage, compared to other major brands of sports touring tires. I tried 3 sets of verge on the VFR, the only reason I won't run them is the front tire starts seems to shimmy after a few thousand kilometers. I spoke to my local Shinko dealer and said he had complaints about front tire shake form heavy sports touring bikes, but said it's fine on lighter bikes. 

I plugged the verge twice after having nails embedded on the rear, MAN the rubber/construction is hard almost bent the reamer. On the other hand Michelin tires are relatively easy to do a flat repair.

On a side note, I live about 5 hours ride from Shinko plant in Jin Ju, Korea.

I get roughly....  4k ish out of a rear.  

I can get about...  5ish?  out of a power3 it seems.  but I had a power3 try to highside me at low speed (-15mph,  new tire parking lot style) in the cold.  

The tire feels like a no brainer,  honestly.  especially in RAINY RAINY coastal north carolina.
