Hello.   Firstly may i say that i have great respect and admiration for the products of Honda Motor company, however, I think that in the realm of customer service American Honda has distinct room for improvement..    For example on 4 or 5 occasions i have written to them with various queries the nature of which i do not immediately recall but at the time seemed to me to be valid questions, These requests for information have met with the following results --   A. Silence,  B. A stock, generalized form reply of such empty banality as to be worthless.  O.K , so i realise that a company such as them must receive many enquiries per day, but the courtesy of a relevant response would be appreciated, After all, you kick a pig and at least he grunts!!   Anyone else had any experiences of American Honda customer relations/service?    Thank you.

Your rant is baseless without specific details of your personal experiences.

Have you actually read what i have written? It is no rant, and i have no wish to moan or complain, just reporting my experiences, Thank you.

:computer-noworky:

do you didnt say much other than a need for improvement..

you do realize that you where dealing with a franchise.. right ?

yes, you can call mcds corporate headquarters and complain you had to much salt on your fries..

but they really wont give damn..

on the flip side when i was a honda dealership in PA  part of my job was taking a customer out to lunch!

I can already imagine the statement from the Honda PR guy..

Now, I have to go back to work on my VFRD speech. And I worked on it until pretty late last night. But I want to say one thing to the VFRD people. I want you to listen to me. I'm going to say this again: I did not have customer relations with that man, Mr Zumper. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time; never. These allegations are false. And I need to go back to work for the VFRD people. Thank you

American Honda Motor Co. Inc. is not a franchise, but a wholly owned subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., Ltd., but it is a big one.  In fact, in terms of sales, the USA is twice as large as Japan for Honda, and roughly the same size as the entire rest of the world combined.

FWIW, my experience with AH has been quite similar to Zumper's, but I don't imagine that any mega corporation takes much interest in individual customer experiences, so I didn't take it personally!

Ciao,

Sound slike a similar story to Honda (UK).

I have contacted them twice regarding the lack of an easier way to buy one of their brand new motorcycles.

Seems they just want you to pay list price and are happy for you to buy another brand because you refuse to pay list price.

Perhaps I actually should buy another brand.

Maybe if you only look at >990cc motorcycles.

For those keeping track at home, in 2013 the breakdown of sales looked like this:

Japan              1.3%

N. America       1.6%

S. America       9.9%

Europe, CIS, Middle and Near East, Africa, and Mars     1.9%

Asia and Oceania    77.2% (Yes, really!)

China                8.0%

And we Americans wonder why we don't get bikes we REALLY want to buy.
