90-93 Fuel Line Replacement

Hello chaps,

My older white VFR is going to be worked on pretty soon, I want to do as much as I can before taking it somewhere to cut down on labour costs.

I want to replace the fuel lines.  I have a fuel filter but I believe (without actually inspecting) that the fuel lines will be gummed up as well, last time I tried to start the bike it just wouldn't fire, but turned over fine.

Off the top of my head, it goes like so:

tank > fuel filter

fuel filter > carbs

so two questions, is this right and secondly, what type of fuel lines do I need to buy as I'm unsure if there's a grading system for the rubber etc.

Just to add, I spoke to David Silver spares and the fuel pump to carbs lines are discontinued.  If anyone knows the inner diameter of the lines then I can order some 1m length aftermarket parts from David Silvers.  :)

I cut open the OEM one (1997/50k miles) and this is what she looked like

Any fuel line will work.  You do not need fuel injector line, which is rated for higher psi, although I'm sure it wouldn't hurt.  Just don't use vacuum lines.

cant see the point in changeing them as they are a preformed shape and not under any real pressure, leave well alone, just change the filter but you can usually see that its OK
