Dam   hate  it .

Just too expensive, not enough dealers, and no guarantee that parts will be available for this exact reason.  Hate to say, especially as a Wisconsin native, that this was doomed from the get-go.

I wasn't in the market for that kind of bike but I loved the fact that they were out there making a real American superbike...  

I entered to win one at Barber, got a cool EBR t-shirt instead...

And  the  fact  that a Daytona 675R with  Jason DiSalvo (who started in  the  middle of  the pack) half track the 1190RR at 2014 Barber Vintage  Race.

It  was  not  good .  

Bummer. Guy had some good ideas, interesting stuff.

Not that I would buy, but still sorry to hear it. :sad:

Kinda ironic that this happens shortly after some news recently leaked out that HD will resurrect their VR1000 Superbike racing program (?).......

They haven't been doing very well in wsbk, but they haven't exactly had experienced riders on them either. Was kind of hoping that their experiences there would speed up development and make them a legitimate consideration in the sportbike realm.

Erik Buell is a decent designer/engineer and (apparently) a horrible businessman...  Still sucks to hear he's having to close up shop.  As has been said he needed to try to compete with the japanese makes and just make a standard superbike, not pricing his bikes in the leagues of Ducati/Bimota, etc

I believe the bike will continue to compete in WSBK for now, only Larry Pegram will need to locate a title sponsor (since he owns the team, not EBR) 

Harley should have sold buell to BRP/rotax when they had an offer on the table.

Harley said that buell was "too integrated" to sell off, but it only took them 90 days to completely shut buell down.
