Last night at approx 545 I welcomed a new family member into the world. This Yahama GTS 1000 runs like a top, and pulls like an electric motor. Yes, she feels like a bit of a porker, but they need love too! The front end takes some getting used to, but that is all part of the fun.
I'm not sure how long I'm going to keep her for, but I will enjoy it in the meantime. If anyone has any experience or knows any trouble spots, I'd love to know about it. From what I've read, the detuned FZ1 motor is pretty solid.
Yup! An SSS will complete that bike's looks.
A salesman in my neighborhood Honda dealership had one with the SSS rear end from the VFR, and he rode it to work everyday with no problems, plus it looked awesome!
Perfect winter project to do on that bike, I'd say!
I really had to restrain myself when I saw that on CL. I had the money just no place to keep it indoors. Congrats! That looks like a fine example of a very unique machine.
Nice. What year? I'm not familiar with that machine so I don't know anything about its specs. But it's always nice to ride something else for a little while.
Enjoy!
