Just wondering if anyone else has a problem when they open the fuel cap.
The cap appears to be under some amount of vacum when attempting to open suffice to say you can hear the "seal" breaking up to 10' away. Never noticed it as bad on any other bikes.
Check to see if the vent hose is pinched.
Yes had that once thought it was a hose pinned since they had installed quickshift but next fillup the sound was gone so cant say if it was just that one time yet...
Have checked nothing pinched that I can see. Certainly not under the tank
Mine's like that every time I open it.
Ssssswwoop!!!
Been riding the bike for a total of 5000km / 3000miles during a touring-trip the last two weeks. It's been working great the whole time, so I don't consider it to be an issue.
I had water pooling around the filler under the cap. Took it in and they found that the drain hose was pinched. Warranty fix! Might want to get that checked.
ok, I have to take a step back on this one.
I lifted the tank the other day and noticed that the breather tube indeed was kinked. It was bended right where it is connected at the tank. When I took it off (in order to be able to lift the tank) I heard a seep of air equalizing the pressure in the tank. I was careful getting it right when putting it back.
Today I took the bike for a nice sunday ride. Immediately after stopping after about 150km I opened the fuel cap to check ..... and heard no sound whatsoever.
So yes, there was something wrong with my swooching fuel cap after all.
