Black widow used to be sandy bike spares before, so not expecting any top of the line quality here, but it cheap.

As you said, it's SBS in disguise (doesn't bode well that they changed names/operate under a different guise, eh?).  They're shit, avoid.

Has nobody ever simply altered the original 4th gen can with bendy section to make it left exit?

Don't buy it, they are garbage. A member here bought a set and found the joints completely unacceptable. They are drilling small holes and then welding a tube over that, it's pretty ridiculous!

Yeah, found those older posts. All i can say is good god! How can anyone sell that piece of shit! Don't they put any pride in their work??

I sent them a series of Emails asking them to verify this is no longer the case, after multiple promises for more info they eventually went dark and never responded.

Now compare this to Motad (I know, they don't do a left exit) who go out their way to answer every possible question (multiple times if needed!) then you'll start to understand how piss poor SBS/Black widows customer service is. They get all their gear put together in China though, so it's no surprise.

Did also send them some questions about quality, and some pictures from the vfr forums. Heres the answer:
