Color Scheme For A Vfr 750 Rc36

Hi guys,

so i have just finished up my front end swap on my 3rd gen, but the fairings are still bare naked fiberglass, and as this would be the third time that this bike has needed a color change i was hoping some of you guys can give me some ideas & point me in the right direction.

1st color scheme

so while I was busy with my build, i was scratching my head on what i should do with the color scheme for the bike when she was on the road again, & I still have not come up with any good ideas.

the one suggestion i kept getting was to spray the whole bike black, & polish the rims up completely, but i found this pic & I am not sure if i like it.

 I have got a set of nice red Honda decals that I intend on using when I spray the bike.

Regarding black, this black / white wheels combination always gets my attention:

The white on white '93 model (at least in the US) is also a personal favorite.

I like the looks of the 2nd, but the White 93 has always been my favorite & the red decals will set it off! but then again I may be biased

In my view, you should either go wild and do a full-on race rep or something, or go with a faithful reproduction of the OEM paint scheme in another colour.  Third-gen logos go on 3rd-gen bikes!  (The red ones you've got are 5th-gen logos.)  Mixing logos between the generations (or worse, non-OEM logos) just scream "crashed bike" to me... :mellow:

Thanks for the input guys, however, I have never really been a fan of the OEM color scheme or the logo’s on the early 90’s VFR’s & the white rims are just not my style either, I do realize that using non OEM logo’s screams crashed bike, but I crashed my bike in 2013, so I can’t say that my bike is “crash free”

I am also not a fan of full race replica schemes on road bikes, saying that, I have a very simple taste when it comes to paint schemes, I prefer clean & simple paint schemes.

I really like the 3rd gen in a charcoal gray/sliver.

I have also thought that the NC30’s(400) had better paint schemes than the 750’s did. I really like the black on sliver scheme on the NC30

I've always been a fan of the RWB color schemes...

Polished rims are my favorite on any bike and white comes in second. Once I stumble across the money, my pewter colored rims will be professionally polished. I did my own on my 4th gen and they looked much better than OEM black but the 4th gen spokes are a very rough cast surface so they still weren't quite what I was after. 6th gen and on up are a smooth finished metal.

Well as you say that, I´m surpised you don´t like the stock color schemes, as they are very simple. well the colors are just a few thro.

Well for the logos, the EU 1991 had a diffrent logo than the other 3rd gens

Well, you did ask for our opinions!  Your bike, your call.

I quite like that NC30 OEM paint scheme (in the second picture--the first one is some kind of dog's breakfast attempt to mimic it), in fact I have an NC30 in those colours.  Technically, it's Vostok silver and "Granite blue metallic", rather than black, but it looks black.
