Hi all,

Picking up my 1 year old VFR 800 FE in March....I've wanted one all my motorcycling life (48 years),

Two questions please...

Is mine, registered in the UK in March 2015, and called  'VFR FE'   what is also called Eigth generation?

Is this forum UK or US focussed?

Thanks and best wishes

John

Johnnie, does it really matter where the site is based? There are UK members on here too. It will probably prove more helpful if you want to join rideouts though.

I use this site a lot as there is a huge well of technical knowledge on here.

Anyway, wrt your questions I don't know about FE or just F and it's this site mainly that calls them the 8th Gen. It's not an official title afaik. Great bike though; test rode one when they came out and will probably be my next purchase when my Vtec starts to expire (so a few years yet, hopefully).

The main thing to remember is the model designation of RC79

FSB .... have your T-Rex sliders arrived yet?

Fitted?

Check my location Johnnie, I'm not far away! As Skids says, use both. All UK RC79s are called FE, I think that's the equivalent designation to the US DLX because we don't get the basic D version without heated grips, traction control, etc. (I was very grateful for the grips this morning though, 1 deg. C on my way to work according to the bike).

Thumbs, yes, arrived this week, might get a chance to fit them this weekend, family stuff and weather permitting!

FSB. Have a look at the last post in the sliders thread, I've emailed T-Rex about WTF they're going to do about the ones they've already sold, in view of the redisgn they're undertaking

I can think of active members from many different countries - UK, France, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, India, Japan, S. Africa, Vietnam, Canada, Italy, Ireland, Isle of Man . . .  I'm sure I'm missing many more (not trying to ignore anyone - just going off of my fast-failing memory!  ).  It makes for an interesting diversity of perspective as well as great ride reports!
