Hi folks
I have an old RC24 (1989) and the rear damper have been changed to a non-stock by previous owner, which means no propper adjustment posibilities.
As i am on a budget i have been looking for a seconhand rear damper, but the ones from a RC24 are either very expensice or needs a complete overhaul. The ones from the RC36 on the other hand are plenty and cheap...
My question is as in the title; will a RC36 rear damper fit on a RC24 without any major changes? And is the springs stifness the same?

As you can see below, the RC24-II's shock length is 280 mm:

II'm a bit fuzzy on the exact length of the '90-'93 but it's around 330 mm or so (edit: 345mm actually).

There are so few shocks that fit the RC24/26, I'm curious what you have on yours and why it is deemed so bad?
Non-stock (aftermarket) usually gives you more adjustment. The only thing adjustable on the RC24 shock is the preload. Unless for 88/89 they added some rebound damping adjustment?

Well, the daamper is too stiff so i hardly flexes when i sit on the bike. Its a screw-type for the preload and its all the way out.. I can only find a return dampning screw at the bottom of the damper... I will be taking the bike apart in febuary, then ill find out which brand it is..
