Hi guys
A strange thing happened to me this morning...
All of a sudden the total clock (km) counter reset to 0.
It is like i bought the bike today....
Is there a way to fix/recover back the kms on the clock?
Any help would be much appreciated

Game over!!
I doubt there's an easy / inexpensive way to get the real mileage back up. Usually people pay hackers to reduce the miles ... not the other way around.
I believe I have heard of one guy in the UK but there must be at least several in every modern first world country. Only thing is that it is essentially illegal, although your case is very honorable.
Maybe the eeprom erased for some reason.
You can buy a eeprom programmer, but is not an easy task to perform... Hexadecimal edition sounds familiar to you?
If you wish to start doing that this is a good starting point :)
Thank you guys, but nothing sounds familiar to me.
Hope that there is nothing else wrong with the bike.
The only thing i know is that i have a ...brand new 1998 vfr with 0 km on the counter
Note down the previous mileage for maintennance purposes... And good luck! Hope that it does not happen again.
knew a guy 40 years ago ....name "Charlie Clocks"...guess what he did for a living? Eventually busted.
Hope it's not a case of brain dead joke...
Guys trying to sell his high mileage car unsuccessfully, his mate tells him he needs to give it a 'haircut'....he does so, but said friend see's him with the same car weeks later and enquires if he still couldn't sell it? Said brain dead friend reply's "no it's got low mileage I decided to keep it" [image: emoji24.png]

I don't have any suggestions, but I'm curious if it started counting up again or staying on 0?
1 hour ago, KevCarverI don't have any suggestions, but I'm curious if it started counting up again or staying on 0?
ok, i was curious too, so i went for a little check.
here it is:
during the test i turn the lights on.
the exact moment it resets the clock (time) and the 2 sub counters.
so something is wrong with the power/current.
probably one of the xenon ballast i have for many years on....

20 minutes to ride 7km??? You do know how the throttle works don't you???
Congratulations on having the lowest mileage 5th gen in the world.
Maybe the xenon ballast interfered on the eeprom... Check that out [image: emoji38.png]
