Have mine under the seat. Front tank mount for me Zumo.
Ram stem mount, and using the USB adapter to the battery tender leads under the seat with USB cable routed under the tank up to the mount.

Nope not at all
I have a RAM Mount bolted to my front gas tank bolts. I have the xgrip on it, there's other companies that make the same thing as the xgrip but with a built in USB.
