Luggage Rack Options

Have all the good luggage mounting options for these bikes dried up? I'm not too keen on the current Givi offerings, either the PL257 tubular side case rack or the 257FZ top case rack.

Looks like the Givi Wingrack and the SW Motech Quick-Lock Evo are no longer available. Has anyone fabricated their own luggage rack or adapted one to fit from another bike?

I have seen pictures of top cases that are mounted using just the grab handle locations. Does anything like this still exist? This is what I am talking about:

Prior to a GIVI topbox rack I had one of these on my 4th gen. The top box's base plate sat a bit more back due to the upper bar of the rack. I added a little mud flap to keep spray off the box. You could saw off that bar and weld up to retain strength.

Sturdy as F....  :goofy:

As you can see by the angle of the rear wheel, the frame was not as sturdy...

I have a set of arms and a MonoLock plate for sale if you want to fab your own.  $50 + ship.

My givi rack broke on me with an empty case down a gravel road. No warranty. What a joke. Reinforced it and welded it up. Its cheap shit alloy. 

Of course some time has past here but while I was setting up another bike early this year I found Hepco Becker makes side and top racks for the Gen 5's. 

I have just gotten around to my Gen 5 and ordered the side rack pkg. This is not their C-Bow system which I fitted to my R3.  The Gen 5 model is an all steel rack that takes any of their side cases.

Hope they give me a commission on at least my  R3 referrals, doubt it.
