Hi There, looking for some instruction/assistance/advice replacing the C-Clips on the gear shift spindle/shaft. From the video you can see that there is movement on the spindle and the only thought from other forums are that the C-clip are missing/broken which keeps the spindle in place. I've ordered the clips and washers, now to understand what needs to be done and in what order. I've got a week off to mess around. Any advise will be most welcome.

Do you have the Service Manual? Section 12 explains removal of the gear shift spindle. You can download the manual from this site.
