Last 50 of 117- Electrical gremlin draining battery On my van I had a parasitic draw that removing all the fuses did nothing. I started disconnecting things and of course the last thing I disconnected was the starter which was the problem.
- Electrical gremlin draining battery I would disconnect the ground and use a vom and use the 10 amp setting and hook the leads between the negative battery terminal and cable to see how much draw you have with the ignition off. Ton of videos on the tube…
- 86 VFR700F rear brakes sticking badly Another thing that can go wrong is the old rubber brake line has deteriorated on the inside and allows fluid to flow one way and not the other. Seen it on cars before and I highly doubt that motorcycles are immune.
- Lifting front wheel without center stand You will need a rear wheel stand also. It will keep the bike steady when you lift the front.
- Winterization I have no ethanol premium in my pressure washer and it's been in there for years. Never had an issue with starting or running, other than when I forget to turn the ignition on.
- Winterization The biggest thing to be concerned with is ethanol fuel. It doesn't take long for it to draw water. If you have it I would drain it out of the tank and carbs and leave the cap off the tank to dry. I always use no ethanol…
- Anyone know anything about what's happened to the world, VFRworld that is. I'm of the notion the server is having issues since posting can't go through. Plenty of time to fix it though.
- Anyone know anything about what's happened to the world, VFRworld that is. The forum was pretty active and then everything stopped on the 18th. Tried posting, but was unable to. I know people frequent both places and was wondering if anyone had any info.
- Hello from London - VF1000R You need to start by getting the main jets right and I would say you need to go up on them. Optimal jetting goes mains needles and then pilots. Those needles shouldn't have much to do at such low throttle opening. Were…
- The version 3 optimization build Looks like someone is ahead of me on that, but it's probably for one of the RC's other than the 36.
- The version 3 optimization build Went for a ride today and as I was filling up beforehand another benefit to the center stand became apparent. You can fill the tank to the brim instead of how full you can fill it on the side stand. I'm not a fan of…
- The version 3 optimization build I just really like being able to put it on the center stand in the garage and be able to work on the left side same as the right. It would also be real handy if a flat rear happened out on the road. I want it light, but…
- The version 3 optimization build 1 hour ago, Tirso A few days ago saw that Tyga has a stainless header with RH exit that's available for 3rd gen VFR. Likely lighter than stock and better performing. Looks prettier! Tyga Header for 3rd Gen VFR I don't…
- The version 3 optimization build Pictures of the ti ZRX fairing mount.
- Tires, how old is "old" I believe there are "myths" associated with all things. They take safety to the extreme and they sell more parts. One so called myth is that you replace sprockets and chain as a set. I'm on the 3rd chain on my ZRX with…
- Lifting to centerstand One thing I did that made the job much easier was a good clean and lube on the pivot of the centerstand. My 93 is much older than yours, but mine went from difficult to get on the stand to easy and it didn't look that…
- Grinding sound when cranking hot, bad battery? What is your battery voltage with the bike idling and revving? You might have a charging issue, especially if you still have the stock R/R.
- Anyone know what these are for Nothing is visible except the head so had no clue as to what was below. Looked like a bb pressed into a hole.
- Anyone know what these are for Now i know, Thanks.
- Anyone know what these are for So it's for frame tag or id plate. That was my initial thought. Grum. Yes these are even smaller than what we call bb's. Not sure what you guys call them. A very small ball bearing would also suffice. Looks like they…
- Anyone know what these are for I'm wondering if anyone knows the purpose of the 3 bb's in the upper rt. frame rail in the vicinity of the steering head. Kind of reminds me of a frame tag missing or something. Only thing I can come up with is…
- Grinding sound when cranking hot, bad battery? Time for a battery. 1st start was ok, but it took a charge off the battery that wasn't replaced by running. 2nd time there was a weaker battery and the 3rd was the worst as each time you took from the battery without…
- Steve Rapp’s VF1000R and 8th Gen VFR800 Is this The Steve Rapp of road racing fame?
- $400 1990 VFR750F I personally like the 5th gen 5 spoke alot, so i think it looks pretty good. A 4th gen 5 spoke would have killed it for me.
- Ceramic coating stock exhaust (with pics) I think comparing the 2 I would go with yours stuart3502 as it looks like a better than nice oem finish that doesn't draw attention to it. Either one is better than stock of course.
- Ceramic coating stock exhaust (with pics) I have to say that looks very nice. Who did you use and have you got any time riding to tell any difference.
- Has anyone done a SH847 voltage regulator on a 3rd gen. I have been trying to find information on the 775. Jack say they are good to 25 amps, but I have seen others state they are good for 35 amps. At 371 watts and say 14 volts that works out to 26.5 amps. Higher than Jack…
- Ceramic coating stock exhaust (with pics) I'm considering doing this on my 3rd gen mainly to remove some of the heat from my rt. leg. Have you noticed anything in that regard?
- Has anyone done a SH847 voltage regulator on a 3rd gen. I was wanting the SH series due to the cooler running stator and oil temps. I do see that Jack has the 775 available, but I can find no template to use as far as the size of the thing goes. I'm wondering if the 775 and…
- Has anyone done a SH847 voltage regulator on a 3rd gen. It doesn't look like anywhere near the stock location is going to work. The subframe is wider at the front, but the bodywork is closer in and vice versa the subframe is too narrow at the rear as is the bodywork. Jack…
- Has anyone done a SH847 voltage regulator on a 3rd gen. I don't think I would have thought about putting it under there, but due to its size it may be the only place to put it. No matter how I finagle things it just doesn't look like it will go in the stock location.
- Has anyone done a SH847 voltage regulator on a 3rd gen. Thanks for that. I removed the oem regulator to give me a better look at things and It looks more likely to work than I was thinking. If I remove the original stud for the R/R it will make it easier. I just don't like…
- Has anyone done a SH847 voltage regulator on a 3rd gen. I did a mockup out of paper to get a general idea, but it does appear I need something more substantial to get a better idea.
- Has anyone done a SH847 voltage regulator on a 3rd gen. I want to put an SH847 from roadster cycle on my bike and am wondering if anyone has experience with mounting one on a 3rd gen. I mad a template and it looks like I could get it to fit in the oe location. Not sure about…
- Can't find what wattage the stator on a 3rd gen puts out. I would have thought that info was in the service manual. My owners manual states 0,371kw/5,000rpm and the info is on page 97. Thanks for finding where to look for the info.
- Can't find what wattage the stator on a 3rd gen puts out. 19 hours ago, YoshiHNS The consensus some decade ago was the 94-97 did around 500W total, with about 250W of that overhead for accessories. I guess a little parts cross referencing will tell me if the 90 to 93 stator is…
- Can't find what wattage the stator on a 3rd gen puts out. Probably not far off. I'm looking for a 93 RC36 spec.
- Can't find what wattage the stator on a 3rd gen puts out. I have been through the FSM and searching online and have not been able to find the specs for the watts put out by the stator on a 3rd gen. I did find an aftermarket that put out more than stock and it was rated at 260…
- The version 3 optimization build So far this year I have put 1608 miles on the bike and loving every one. My mileage varies between a high of 50.3 mpg and a low of 44.7. Avg comes out to 47.2 for all tanks of fuel. The furthest I went on a tank was…
- New to me 1990 750 Looks like you have every option except the clock. Really nice!
- Rescuing a '91 VFR750F I finally got around to taking pictures of the ZRX and thanks to Danno I know how to load them now. You mentioned you wanted to see the bike so here goes. Well 2 of them don't want to seem to resize so I guess this is…
- Starting issue ..loud crack sound The starter clutch has to be making that sound. The Visions I have are known for it. A 4yr. old battery really does need load tested just to confirm it's condition.
- The version 3 optimization build Well I got these resized and loaded. This thing sounds glorious. A little loud even with the baffle installed. Sounds perfect with earplugs and isn't even too bad without for short rides. It's a lot lighter. I think I…
- The version 3 optimization build I think I may have this figured out. Thanks a lot Danno for the links. Here are some photo's from months ago. I have 2 more I want to get on here, but it may take some work to figure that out as some things don't seem…
- The version 3 optimization build Thanks a lot for that info. Now I just need to find out how to resize things.
- The version 3 optimization build Sorry, but I thought I posted it was error code 200. Going to try another way if I can figure it out. All I get is upload failed. I don't know anything else to try. I have drug files and tried to copy them as well as…
- The version 3 optimization build I can attempt the copy/paste and see, but the cookie thing is not anything I am familiar with. Oatmeal raisin is my favorite.
- The version 3 optimization build I get an error code when I do that. Never had any problem when I posted pictures before. Apple tells me it is something with the server on the forum and I have posted pictures other places.
- The version 3 optimization build Sure would like to post some pictures I need to talk to someone that does the IT work on the forum. Anyone know who I need to contact? The ti Axle and nut came in the very same day the post office told me it was still…
- 1990 model running rough intermittently. Might check and see if there is water in your fuel. Did it run the same after the ignition switch bypass?
