Hey there, I am new to this forum. I bought a 90 vfr 750f and I like it alot. I have searched the archives about this but I didn't find what I am looking for. I live in Oregon and my bike is a california model. Has anyone here taken all of the smog stuff off their vfrk and what changes did you have to make to restore perfomance if any? My last ride was a 78 CB750 f that turned into a cafe racer and things were a little simpler on it.

I mainly want to get rid of the emmissions stuff like the cat and evaporation stuff ect. I am also looking for a lighter weight exhaustsystem. What works? Is there a thread that covers this stuff and if so does anyone have a link to it? How about essnetial reading in book form ect? I don't mind doing my reading and research but I kind of need a place to start on this vfr business. Who better to ask tahtn experts?
The simplest way to drop the weight of the stock exhaust system is to replace the factory muffler with an aftermarket aluminum/carbon fiber/ etc. model. There is a thread on here in which a guy in Holland had an all titanium exhaust system made for the bike. He dropped I believe 44 lbs from the bike.
does anyone here have the smog stuff on their bikes? A custom fabbed titanium exhuast system is a little out of my budget (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/rolleyes.gif)
